Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc. seeks a Transportation Intern to support field and office teams during the summer. This role offers hands-on exposure to transportation construction, QA practices, and how engineering design comes to life on site.

Ideal candidates are pursuing Civil Engineering or Construction Management, with sophomore year completed by start date. Outdoor work, valid driver's license, and strong communication skills are preferred.Internship includes housing allowance and paid overtime

What You'll Do

We are seeking a Transportation Intern to support our field and office teams during the summer. This internship is ideal for students interested in gaining real-world transportation experience, learning about quality assurance practices, and observing how engineering design comes to life in the field.

• Gain real-world experience on exciting transportation construction projects
• Apply standard construction and inspection techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of the Transportation Manager
• Perform other duties as needed

Who We're Looking For

Minimum Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Completion of sophomore year or higher by the internship start date.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work outdoors on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
