Job summary

Smith Seckman Reid, Inc (SSR) is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern to support our structural team on healthcare, education, commercial, and civic projects. You will gain exposure to structural design, analysis, and construction documentation while working with seasoned engineers.

Current pursuit of a Civil Engineering degree with a structural emphasis is required. Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit is a plus, and strong communication and teamwork skills are essential for success in a

Familiarity with design software and building codes preferred.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with structural design and analysis for building projects.
Prepare drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
Use Revit and AutoCAD for modeling and documentation.
Learn building codes, design standards, and industry best practices.
Support cross-discipline tasks across civil, electrical, mechanical, HR, IT, and marketing.
Document work with accuracy and completeness.
Attend team meetings and track actions with due dates.
Seek opportunities to expand knowledge and share coursework insights.
Participate in trainings, lunch-and-learns, and site walks.
Communicate clearly with supervisors and peers; escalate blockers early.
