Job summary

ShipBob is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join the FP&A and Transportation teams in Chicago. You will prepare forecasts, perform variance analysis, and build board and investor materials to support profitable growth and strategic transportation initiatives.

This role partners with the Finance and Transportation teams to improve forecasting, margins, and reporting. You should be a strong modeler with Excel, Power BI, SQL, and communication skills, thriving in a fast-paced startup

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field.
• 3PL or relevant experience in Transportation.
• 3–5 years FP&A or related field.
• Hybrid schedule in Chicago office.
• Excellent financial modeling skills and understanding of financial statements.
• Strong communication and presentation skills for stakeholders.
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with NetSuite, Power BI, SQL is preferred.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic startup environment with leadership ability.

Responsibilities

• Complete thorough analysis on transportation initiatives each month and communicate key performance drivers and variances.
• Collaborate with partners to report on weekly performance related to Transportation and margins.
• Manage relationships with Transportation team to build bottoms-up forecasts and identify risks/opportunities.
• Support development of models and processes for new strategic transportation initiatives.
• Prepare annual operating plan with Transportation team and convert to budget.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly investor and board financial reporting presentations.
• Provide analysis of key operational metrics and communicate findings.
• Develop and improve models and procedures using professional knowledge.
• Automate and improve existing files and processes; work with management on strategic improvements.
• Proactively provide solutions to business needs and optimize investments behind key strategies.
• Network with stakeholders to align objectives and actions.
