Job summary

West Virginia Transportation is seeking a Transportation Financial Specialist 2 in Upshur County to oversee the EZ-Pass Transponder System for the Division of Highways. The role requires independent judgement in policy interpretation and performs related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, budget, or business may substitute for the required training/education.
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or related experience.
• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Transportation Financial Specialist 1.

The Transportation Financial Specialist 2 in this position reports to the Equipment Division in Upshur County. The selected applicant performs full-performance highly specialized work under limited supervision. Position requires the use of independent judgement in the interpretation and adaptation of policies and guidelines. This includes overseeing the EZ-Pass Transponder System for the West Virginia Division of Highways. Performs related work as required.

TRAINING/EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Substitution: Experience in accounting, bookkeeping, budget, or business may be substituted for the required training/education through an established formula.

EXPERIENCE

• Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, or related experience.
• Substitution: Successful completion of graduate coursework from a regionally accredited college or university may be substituted for the required experience through an established formula.

Two (2) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as a Transportation Financial Specialist 1.
