South Carolina Department of Transportation seeks an on-site Field Inspector to perform field inspection duties on county contract projects, ensuring compliance with specifications and maintaining detailed records in HMMS and daily diaries. You will inspect quantities, coordinate with contractors, and document deficiencies and work progress daily.

Competenze

• High school diploma and two years of progressively responsible engineering technician related experience or equivalent.
• Physical demands include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Mansioni

• Perform field inspection duties for county contract projects (asphalt/concrete repair, vegetation management, markings).
• Inspect work to ensure compliance with contract/SCDOT specifications and maintain records in daily diary and HMMS.
• Communicate with contractors to schedule work, answer questions, and resolve issues; notify deficiencies.
• Measure and record quantities for contract repairs; complete field reviews for repair quantities.
• Enter data into tracking spreadsheets and HMMS; complete Daily Work Reports and other notes.
• Assist in emergency/inclement weather and potential extended hours or 12-hour shifts as directed.
