Job summary

Washington State Department of Transportation( WSDOT ) seeks a Transportation Engineer 2 in the Olympic Region, based in Lacey, WA, to support highway construction contracts and approvals. You will inspect projects, test materials, manage records, develop change orders, and ensure contract compliance with WSDOT standards and plans.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of civil/structural/transportation engineering principles.
• Ability to read plans, specs, and data; apply engineering judgments.
• Document engineering, inspection, and project support activities accurately.
• Learn and apply agency standards, policies, and procedures.
• Proficiency with MS Office and engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Inspect active highway projects for plan conformance and quality.
• Document field conditions, prepare pay estimates and records.
• Perform material testing and manage data and records.
• Develop change orders with estimates and documentation.
• Support design solutions and maintain as-built drawings.
