Job summary

Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) in Hartford, CT seeks a Transportation Family Liaison to support families and schools with transportation-related resources and issue resolution. You will build strong relationships with families, bus companies, school staff, and community partners.

Responsibilities include investigating family needs, coordinating resources for resolutions, hosting New Family meetings, attending Open Houses, and serving as a DCF mandated reporter.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent organizational, communication and written skills.
• Computer literate including knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
• GPS and video experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate family needs with an emphasis on issues related to transportation.
• Communicate identified needs to Manager and plan resources needed for a positive resolution.
• Host and manage annual New Family meetings.
• Attends scheduled Open House sessions at school level to provide transportation-related information.
• Visits hospitals and provides support to families when accident occurs while being transported to or from school on a school vehicle.
• Department Of Children and Families (DCF) mandated reporter, files all DCF reportable incidents with the DCF department. Manages documents related to DCF report, including providing reports to schools.
• Assist in the Call Center when needed.
