Job Description

Description: The Transportation & Facility Supervisor oversees drivers to ensure we meet our safety, customer service, accuracy, and efficiency goals. They ensure routes and plans consistently meet customer service expectations for on-time delivery while maximizing utilization of OGC’s fleet.

Here’s what you’ll do:

  • Supervise and plan efficient, effective, and safe routes for all PNW regional delivery areas.
  • Adjust routes and schedules as necessary to meet customer requests.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate information in transportation management software regarding fleet specifications, delivery constraints, customer preferences, driver schedules, and routing details.
  • Communicate routing operations information and schedules with internal customers, carriers/vendors, team members, and management.
  • Investigate root causes following feedback concerning routing operations (internal and external).
  • Oversee backhaul and front haul opportunities and delivery modifications.
  • Perform facility maintenance and address property and tenant issues supported by management.
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities for assigned staff, including recruiting, hiring, developing drivers, monitoring performance, and coaching for success.
  • Maintain fleet records for fuel, mileage, refrigeration unit hours, and ensure compliance with FMCSA, ODOT, and OSHA standards.
  • Ensure fleet insurance and registration are up to date.
  • Report accidents and ensure drivers receive safety training.
  • Monitor driver infractions and citations, and provide retraining as needed.
  • Audit driver hours-of-service logs for accuracy and violations.
  • Develop and document mandatory DOT driver training.
  • Cover routes as needed.

Requirements:

  • A valid Class A driver's license.
  • At least two years of leadership/supervisory experience.
  • Experience with routing and dispatch TMS and electronic log software.
  • Understanding of retail and vendor landscape, routing & dispatch, backhaul opportunities, truck safety & DOT compliance, cold chain custody, product lines, and seasons.
  • Extensive knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations.
  • Ability to establish clear directions, distribute workload, and maintain effective communication.
  • Leadership skills to guide a team and contribute wherever needed.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Self-driven, independent work ethic, and timely in commitments.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic programs like Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of geography and roadways in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana.
