The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) seeks a Transportation Worker 3 Mechanic for the District 8 Equipment Shop in Elkins to perform journey-level mechanical work on diesel and gasoline-powered equipment, including major overhauls and preventative maintenance. You will fabricate parts from blueprints, weld with proper certification, and maintain records of work orders and repairs.

A valid driver's license is required at hire, and CDL must be obtained within six months; occasional

Formación

• Four years of full-time or equivalent experience as automotive mechanic servicing gasoline or diesel vehicles.
• Vocational school may substitute for two years of the required experience.
• Valid driver’s license at hire; CDL required within six months of employment.

Responsabilidades

• Fabricates engine and machinery parts from blueprints and drawings.
• Performs major overhaul of gasoline and diesel-powered equipment.
• Maintains records of work orders, parts inventory, and repairs.
• Performs repairs to hydraulic systems and preventative maintenance inspections.
• With welding certification, performs welding repairs on highway equipment.
• Travel may be required; a valid driver’s license is required.
