Job summary

LVI Associates is seeking a senior bridge engineer to lead transportation infrastructure projects across the region, guiding them from planning and design development through construction administration and delivery.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, liaise with state, county, and local agencies including NJDOT, oversee schedules and budgets, and mentor junior staff while supporting business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; advanced degree in Structural Engineering is a plus.
• PE license required; NJ registration preferred or ability to obtain.
• 8+ years delivering bridge and transportation projects.
• Proven leader of complex infrastructure assignments and multidisciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of bridge design methodologies and transportation standards.
• Experience with structural analysis and bridge design software (CSiBridge, MIDAS, LEAP, STAAD, LARSA).
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational and client management abilities.
• Experience supporting marketing, proposals, and client growth is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of bridge, roadway, and transportation projects from planning through construction completion.
• Coordinate and manage multidisciplinary teams of structural, highway, traffic, environmental, geotechnical, and water resources specialists.
• Act as principal liaison for clients, partners with transportation agencies, municipalities, counties, and NJDOT.
• Oversee project performance including schedules, budgets, deliverables, quality and risk management.
• Direct preparation and review of drawings, documents, analyses, design reports, and cost estimates.
• Provide technical oversight for structural and transportation engineering work with innovative design solutions.
• Ensure projects comply with industry regulations, agency criteria and standards.

The selected professional will guide projects through every phase, from planning and design development to construction administration and final delivery. Typical assignments include bridge replacements, structural rehabilitations, transportation corridor improvements, waterfront facilities, and other complex infrastructure programs. Working alongside a multidisciplinary team, this individual will play a key role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for state, county, and local agency clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the execution of bridge, roadway, and transportation infrastructure projects from initial planning through construction completion.
• Coordinate and manage teams comprised of structural, highway, traffic, environmental, geotechnical, and water resources specialists.
• Act as the principal liaison for clients, maintaining strong partnerships with transportation agencies, municipalities, county organizations, and NJDOT.
• Oversee project performance, including schedules, budgets, deliverables, quality standards, and risk management.
• Direct the preparation and review of engineering drawings, contract documents, technical analyses, design reports, and cost estimates.
