Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design seeks a Bridge Department Manager in New Jersey with NJDOT/NJTA project design and management experience to lead the bridge group. You will partner with clients to ensure safe, economical and environmentally sensitive outcomes while growing the NJ bridge practice.

The role requires a NJ PE license (or reciprocity), 12+ years in leadership with 8+ in bridge engineering, and strong business development and proposal skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering required.
  • 12+ years of leadership, with 8+ years in bridge engineering.
  • Prior NJDOT/NJTA experience required.
  • New Jersey PE license required (or reciprocity).
  • Proven business development, proposal, and delivery experience for DOT/Agency projects in NJ.
  • Knowledge of NJDOT/NJTA processes and AASHTO design manuals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Bridge team on DOT and Agency work.
  • Grow the group in NJDOT/NJTA and other agency projects.
  • Forecast projects and manage proposals.
  • Build subconsultant networks and teaming agreements.
  • Manage bridge and infrastructure multi-discipline projects.
  • Mentor staff and guide regional strategy.
  • Monitor costs, schedule, and quality; ensure on-budget delivery.
  • Billings and collections.
  • Collaborate with offices and disciplines to deliver quality projects.

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for a Bridge Department Manager with NJDOT/NJTA project design and management experience to join our team in New Jersey. Are you ready to join an exciting infrastructure team and contribute to our growth?

Our bridge experts partner with our clients to understand project objectives, while formulating solutions that result in safe, efficient, economical and environmentally sensitive outcomes. This highly skilled team offers a full range of bridge services from scoping, planning and preliminary engineering through final design for small to large scale bridges.

Responsibilities
  • Leverage experience, leadership, and relationships to assist the group grow in NJDOT/NJTA and other agency work.
  • Bridge team leader for DOT and Agency type work.
  • Project and industry forecasting.
  • Network and represent the company at industry and professional business development, conferences and presentation opportunities.
  • Prepare and manage proposals for DOT and Agency type clients.
  • Ability to develop and build a network of subconsultants and teaming agreements.
  • Manage bridge and infrastructure multi-discipline projects.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other offices and in other disciplines to establish a cohesive team to deliver a quality project on time and under budget.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to staff and colleagues.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for the region to achieve established goals.
  • Monitor project costs to ensure that projects are delivered within budget, fulfill customer expectations for schedule and quality, and/or align with the company strategic objectives.
  • Billings and collections.
  • Work with geographic discipline leaders on resource sharing and staffing needs.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil or structural Engineering is required.
  • 12+ years of progressive leadership and managerial experience in the engineering industry with 8+ years of bridge engineering experience is required.
  • Prior NJDOT/NJTA experience is required.
  • New Jersey PE license is required (or through reciprocity).
  • Proven experience and in-depth knowledge of business development, prepare winning proposals, and the design, management and delivery of bridge and infrastructure projects for DOT and Agency clients, especially in NJ.
  • Meet the qualifications of NJDOT “Team Leader” including experience with AASHTO/NJDOT Design Manuals, LFRD for Bridge Design, Seismic Analysis and NJDOT Capital Project Delivery Process.
  • Ability to be a well-rounded team member, collaborate with the transportation team, and be a key contributor to the vision of the group.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.

Compensation: $154,600 to $200,000 per year (Depending on Qualifications)
