Job summary

WSP USA in Las Vegas, NV offers a Transportation Engineering Internship as part of its Summer Internship Program. The 12-week position targets students enrolled in Civil Engineering or related programs with graduation in August 2027 or later.

You will gain hands-on exposure by working alongside senior staff on real projects. Interns will develop technical, social, and ethical skills, learn basic transportation principles, and contribute to CAD drawings, research, field work, and design

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or related Undergraduate program, with an anticipated graduation date of August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Transportation Engineering and a desire to advance skills related to WSP’s work and projects.
• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with engineers and non-engineers.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, spreadsheets, and general tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Compliance with workplace safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Transportation Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Perform basic CAD tasks and drawings using AutoCAD, Civil3D, InRoads/OpenRoads or MicroStation.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
