Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Columbus, OH offers a Transportation Engineering Internship for Summer 2027. You will assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients, and prepare design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.

We seek a student enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program who is eager to learn, with strong communication and organizational skills. Prior internship or DOT project experience is helpful but not required.

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients.
• Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
• Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
• Participate in solving real engineering challenges and managing project deliverables.
