Job summary

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber in Farmington Hills, MI is offering a Transportation Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027. This full-time internship involves supporting design work, preparing drawings, and assisting engineers on DOT and municipal projects.

You will gain hands-on experience with AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to real engineering challenges on deliverables and schedules.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering program.
• Eager to learn and contribute to meaningful projects.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or OpenRoads Designer is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Previous internship or DOT project experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in designing roads, bridges, and civil infrastructure for DOT and municipal clients.
• Create design drawings using AutoCAD and OpenRoads Designer.
• Support engineers with calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across offices.
• Participate in solving real engineering challenges and managing project deliverables.
