Job summary

Baxter & Woodman Inc is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern to support the transportation design team across our Naperville, Bannockburn, Chicago O’Hare, Crystal Lake, or Mokena offices. This on-the-job experience offers exposure to planning and design of transportation facilities while collaborating with engineers and staff.

Qualifications

Pursuing a 4-year Civil Engineering degree with Transportation emphasis.
Available to start May 2027.
Willing to travel within Baxter & Woodman’s service area.
Strong written, verbal, and computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

Assist in the planning and design of transportation facilities as part of the transportation design team.
Learn and apply CAD skills in daily tasks.
Conduct traffic analysis and data collection to support projects.
Perform survey activities and site inspections during construction.
Support construction inspection and documentation efforts.
