Goodwyn Mills Cawood LLC is seeking a Transportation Intern (UTK) to support ongoing projects from our Brentwood, TN office. Responsibilities include preparing reports, site plans, permit documents, construction schedules, and studies under supervision.

The role emphasizes field and office work (FIELD 20% / OFFICE 80%), with focus on Civil Engineering fundamentals, CAD documentation, and coordination across disciplines. ABET-accredited program and EIT are valued assets.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil3D experience preferred.
• EIT certification or foundations of engineering certificate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision.
• Direct technicians for production of engineering documents.
• Perform cross-discipline checks and coordination to ensure quality.
• Review project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
• Identify and report risk management issues to the Project Engineer.
• Assist in learning client needs and understanding ethical obligations to the public.
