Job summary

Goodwyn Mills Cawood, LLC (GMC) is seeking a Site Civil Engineering Intern in Nashville, TN. The internship focuses on preparing reports, site plans, permit documents, and construction schedules while gaining hands-on project experience under experienced engineers.

The role supports field and office work with about 20% field duties and 80% office tasks. Candidates pursuing an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree, with AutoCAD knowledge and EIT a plus, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

Pursing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD; Civil3D experience preferred.
A/E or EPC experience a plus.
Foundations of Engineering Certificate (EIT) a plus.

Responsibilities

Apply technical skills to routine projects with minimal supervision.
Direct technicians for production of engineering documents for routine projects accurately.
Execute cross-discipline checks and coordination.
Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Recognize and report risk management issues to Project Engineer as appropriate.
Assist in learning the needs of assigned clients.
Understand the profession’s ethical obligation to Client and the public welfare.
Assist with reviewing and defining scope of work issues with Consultants and Contractors.
