Transportation Engineer/ Project Manager

Quigg Engineering Inc. (QEI) is a multi-disciplined civil engineering and surveying firm servicing both private and public sectors in Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Iowa. We specialize in design, planning, surveying, structural analysis, construction inspection and environmental studies for state DOTS, tollway, municipalities, and utility companies including residential, commercial, and industrial development projects. We are seeking a dynamic Transportation Engineer/Project Manager to join our team on a full-time basis at St. Louis, MO office.

Responsibilities:

  • Design of highway, interchange, and intersection projects.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects in accordance with all relevant regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Develop relationships and interact with public and private clients throughout the development of a project.
  • Work with a diversified technical staff to accomplish project objectives.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with other disciplines during the course of a project to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Participate in member organizations to develop relationships, advance technical knowledge, and enhance QEI’s reputation.
  • Assist with business development and the proposal process

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Registered as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri or ability to obtain through reciprocity.
  • 8+ years of experience of increasing levels of responsibility
  • Proficient in relevant design software, Microstation/OpenRoads Designer or AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Experience with MoDOT, and Local Public Agency work is preferred. Experience with IDOT and the Tollway is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and coworkers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all phases of project document production
  • Experience with geometric layouts and intersection design and ADA layouts
  • Experience with traffic signal and storm sewer design a plus
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with other members of the design team
  • Possesses excellent time-management skills, thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting and efficient use of time and resources
  • Understanding and applying design criteria, requirements in relevant jurisdictions
  • Ability to solve problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation
  • Takes initiative on tasks in coordinating with other members of the design team
