Job summary

MECO Engineering in Pittsfield, IL seeks an experienced Transportation Engineer (PE) to lead the design and delivery of regional transportation projects. The ideal candidate will have IDOT standards experience and a strong command of MicroStation and Bentley Civil products.

Responsibilities include planning, specifications, cost estimates, and collaborating with clients and agencies throughout the project lifecycle. Mentoring staff and ensuring quality deliverables are also required.

Qualifications

• Licensed PE with Illinois licensure preferred.
• Experience leading transportation design projects.

About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Engineer (PE) for our Pittsfield, IL location to lead the design and delivery of transportation projects across the region. The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience with IDOT standards and a strong command of MicroStation and Bentley Civil products.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design of roadway, highway, and transportation infrastructure projects from concept to construction.
• Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports in compliance with IDOT or other DOT guidelines.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineering staff and CAD designers.
• Interface with clients, stakeholders, and agency representatives throughout the project lifecycle.
• Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and other Bentley products for design and production.
• Support or lead coordination efforts for permitting, utility coordination, and public involvement as needed.
• Ensure all deliverables meet internal and client quality standards and deadlines.
