Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our growing transportation practice in West Virginia.

You will design and analyze transportation improvement projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver quality plans for municipal and state clients. Open to engineers at an EI/EIT level, the role offers mentorship, professional growth toward licensure, and the chance to become a part-owner in our 100% employee-owned firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related required.
• 2+ years of roadway/transportation engineering experience.
• EI/EIT certification preferred.
• DOT/DOH project exposure is a plus.
• Experience with OpenRoads or Civil 3D CAD software required.
• Experience in roadway geometric design, pavement design, and plan preparation is a plus.
• Experience in drainage, hydrology, and drainage design coordination is a plus.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Assist design and preparation of transportation improvement projects for municipal and state/private clients.
• Perform engineering calculations, analyses, and technical evaluations for roadway projects.
• Support geometric design, drainage design, construction staging, plan production.
• Prepare design quantities, cost estimates, and supporting project documentation.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, survey, geotechnical and environmental professionals.
• Participate in project planning, design development, and delivery through lifecycle phases.
• Develop technical skills in roadway design, drainage, and project delivery through hands-on experience and mentorship.
