Job summary

Alexander Associates, a fast-growing engineering consultancy in Houston, is seeking an experienced Roadway Project Manager to lead delivery of TxDOT, municipal, and regional transportation projects in the Greater Houston area.

The role requires 10+ years in roadway engineering, 5+ years in PM, a Texas PE license, and proven ability to manage multidisciplinary teams, budgets, and schedules while interfacing with clients.

Job description

Alexander Associates are representing a fast growing engineering consultancy that’s looking to add an experienced Roadway Project Manager to their Houston Transportation team. This position will take a lead role in the management and delivery of major TxDOT, municipal and regional transportation infrastructure projects across the Greater Houston area.

Salary:

$140,000-$190,000 DOE + Benefits

Job Specifications:

Manage the design and delivery of roadway and transportation projects, including:

• Major transportation, highway & municipal roadway projects
• Preliminary engineering, schematics and roadway design
• Paving, grading, drainage and associated transportation infrastructure
• Traffic engineering, traffic control and utility coordination
• Lead the development and review of plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E)
• Manage multidisciplinary teams of engineers, designers and technicians
• Oversee project budgets, schedules, technical deliverables and overall project performance
• Coordinate with TxDOT, municipalities and other transportation agencies
• Provide QA/QC reviews of engineering plans, specifications and project deliverables
• Support GEC, program management and major transportation programs
• Manage projects through multiple delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build
• Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients
• Support proposals, pursuits and business development activities
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering staff

Key Requirements:

• 10+ years’ experience within Roadway/Transportation engineering
• 5+ years’ project management experience preferred
• Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong background delivering TxDOT and/or municipal transportation projects
• Experience managing multidisciplinary roadway design projects
• Strong understanding of PS&E development and TxDOT design standards
• Experience with MicroStation and OpenRoads/Geopak
• Previous GEC and/or program management experience beneficial
• Experience with alternative project delivery methods beneficial
• Client-facing and business development experience with TxDOT, counties and/or municipalities
• B.S. in Civil Engineering or related Engineering discipline
