Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) invites motivated students to join our Pittsburgh, PA office as a Transportation Engineer Intern for the 2027 internship period (May–August).

This paid full-time role offers mentorship by project managers and team leaders, with potential transition to a full-time junior engineer after graduation. Responsibilities include supporting regulatory tasks, cost estimates, data entry, reporting, and possible field assignments.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor or Associate degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong technical and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-motivated and detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Support project tasks including regulatory reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Assist with the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Receive mentorship from project leaders and teammates.
• Perform other related duties as necessary.
