A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) seeks a Transportation Engineer Intern in our Herndon, VA office for the 2027 internship period.

This paid full-time internship runs May through August 2027, with potential transition to a Full-Time Junior Engineer role after graduation. You will be mentored by project managers and engineers in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities include supporting regulatory work, cost estimates, data management, report prep, and possible field work, with

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and detail oriented.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Support regulatory requirements, cost estimates, and procurement tasks.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation and presentation.
• Assist in preparing reports, plans and specifications for clients.
• May perform field assignments as needed.
• Work under supervision of PMs and team leaders.
