Job summary

A. Morton Thomas and Associates, Inc. (AMT) seeks a Transportation Engineer Intern (STEM) for our Columbus, OH office for the 2027 internship.

This paid, full-time position runs May through August 2027, with potential to transition into a Full-Time Junior Engineer role after graduation. You will work under project managers and team leaders, supporting regulatory reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement, data entry, and the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor or Associate Degree in Civil/Transportation Engineering or related field.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Possesses solid technical and problem-solving skills.
• Self-motivated, detail oriented person.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Power Point).

Responsibilities

• Support various project tasks including regulatory requirements/reviews, cost estimates, research, procurement support, etc.
• Perform data entry, management, evaluation, and presentation.
• Support the preparation of reports, plans, and specifications for clients.
• May work on field assignments as needed.
• Will be supported by leaders, mentors, and teammates.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as necessary
