Job summary

The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) seeks a Transportation Engineer 3 to serve as the Olympic Region’s PS&E Specialist, providing technical expertise, design support, and quality assurance for transportation projects. This position reviews plans, specs and estimates and ensures compliance with WSDOT standards.

You will coordinate the Region Review process, prepare and review final contract documents, and mentor project designers in PS&E development and estimating.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience applying engineering principles to transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Review PS&E contract documents for transportation projects of varying complexity and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate the Region Review process, distribute plan sets, review approvals, and verify permits and docs.
• Prepare final contract documents for advertisement and review addenda.
• Provide technical guidance to designers during PS&E development and develop Engineer’s estimates.
• Review Documentation Packages and Plans for Approval from development to final approval.
• Evaluate roadside design elements for compliance with design policies and provide guidance.
• Participate in updates to regional manuals and lead or support project coordination meetings.
• Support regional design operations as Design Support Supervisor when needed.
