Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Civil/Transportation Engineer in the United States (Illinois) to help design large-scale infrastructure such as highways, tunnels and mass transit. Under supervision you will develop designs that meet client requirements and regulatory standards.

You will review drafts, ensure policies are followed, perform site reviews, and contribute to technical papers as needed. The position requires travel up to 10% and a Bachelor's in Civil/Transportation Engineering or related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.

• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Under direct supervision, develops large scale projects such as highways, tunnels, mass transit and aviation engineering designs of basic complexity to meet client project requirements.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.
• Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.
• Updates design requirements as necessary.
