Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a seasoned Civil/Transportation/Structural Engineer to lead large-scale designs for highways, tunnels, mass transit, and aviation projects in the U.S. Travel may be required depending on project needs and client locations.

You will review designs for compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and mentor junior staff. Expert CAD and 3D/4D design experience, plus strong MS Office skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering; PE license.
• 10 years of related engineering experience; travel may be required.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Develop large-scale projects such as highways, tunnels, mass transit and aviation engineering designs.
• Review draft designs for regulatory compliance and sign off on completed designs.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff; mentor others.
• May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.
• Collaborate with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs.
• Attend conferences to improve the visibility of the firm’s products and services.
