Job summary

Actalent in Chicago, IL, seeks a Transportation Engineer to plan, design, and oversee infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and rail elements. You will prepare detailed designs using MicroStation and Geopak and work with state DOTs, toll authorities, and municipalities.

With a BS in Civil Engineering and an EIT or PE license, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, mentor junior staff, and help advance toward PE licensure while ensuring compliance with codes and standards

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering.
• Current EIT or PE license.
• At least 3 years of transportation project experience.
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or Geopak for transportation design.
• Experience with state DOTs, tollway authorities, or municipalities.
• Strong knowledge of roadway and highway design.
• Ability to collaborate on multidisciplinary projects.
• Effective communication with clients.
• Solid understanding of applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and develop engineering activities for transportation infrastructure.
• Perform design engineering on transportation projects.
• Prepare detailed designs using MicroStation and Geopak.
• Develop innovative solutions to engineering problems.
• Prepare drawings, specs, calculations, charts, and graphs.
• Monitor compliance with codes and standards.
• Provide site oversight and reviews.
• Collaborate with team to deliver solutions.
• Communicate project requirements and progress with clients.
• Support growth and mentorship for PE licensure.
• Participate in training opportunities with senior engineers.
