Hanson Professional Services Inc. is actively seeking a full-time Transportation Engineer to join our Harlingen, Texas team. This role combines roadway design with staff leadership and client engagement across South Texas, offering opportunities to mentor staff and manage project scope.

The ideal candidate holds a B.S. in civil engineering, 5+ years of roadway experience, and a Texas PE license, with proficiency in OpenRoads, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• 5+ years of roadway or transportation engineering experience.
• Texas Professional Engineer license.
• Experience preparing roadway plans, estimates, calculations, and construction documents.
• Experience in modifying specifications and preparation of special provisions.
• Strong communication, organization, teamwork, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design roadway, highway, intersection, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and multimodal improvements for public-sector clients.
• Prepare plans, specifications, estimates, calculations, reports, quantities, and construction documents.
• Develop alignments, geometrics, safety features, pedestrian and bicycle accommodations, signing, pavement markings, drainage interfaces, utility coordination, and traffic control plans.
• Serve as a task lead or project engineer, coordinating scope, schedule, budget, quality, and multidisciplinary work.
• Travel occasionally within the region.
