Position Overview

Under the supervision of the Design Branch Chief or an Area Senior Construction Engineer, the incumbent serves as a Project Engineer responsible for engineering work related to Project Study Reports, contract plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects. The role includes acting as a lead worker, providing training, and participating as a design team member. Responsibilities also include serving as a Resident Engineer on construction projects, as outlined in Caltrans activities. We promote diversity, equity, and equal employment opportunities.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Possession of a valid Professional Engineer License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License.
• Education and experience as specified in the class specification, including verification of degrees or licenses, especially for foreign degrees via evaluation agencies.
