Under the supervision of the Design Branch Chief or an Area Senior Construction Engineer, the incumbent serves as a Project Engineer responsible for engineering work related to Project Study Reports, contract plans, specifications, and estimates for transportation projects. The role includes acting as a lead worker, providing training, and participating as a design team member. Responsibilities also include serving as a Resident Engineer on construction projects, as outlined in Caltrans activities. We promote diversity, equity, and equal employment opportunities.

This position is located at 703 B St. Marysville, CA, with potential travel to various North Region locations. The role may include telework options, subject to departmental policies. The role involves office work in a climate-controlled environment and fieldwork that may expose employees to traffic, noise, dirt, water, uneven surfaces, and extreme weather conditions. Travel and overnight stays may be required, with travel expenses reimbursed according to state policies. Valid California Driver’s License required for operating state vehicles.
