**Job Description**

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Transportation Engineer to be based in Minneapolis, MN.

**Job Responsibilities:**

+ Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

+ Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.

+ Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.

+ Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.

+ Identifies discrepancies in results.

+ Provides guidance and reviews work of entry level engineers.

+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

+ Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.

+ Work with others on Business Development opportunities.

+ Communicate and collaborate with other disciplines for desired project outcome.

+ May telecommute.

**Qualifications**

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or a transportation engineering related occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a transportation engineering related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

1. Design and production of a roadway layout in compliance with AASHTO, HDM and MUTCD standards, curb return layouts and profiles, intersection stopping sight distances, roadway profiles and corridor models, surface grading, earthwork calculations, typical cross sections, utilities, and construction details;

2. Analyzing survey reports, maps, and other data related to project design;

3. Designing and production of ADA compliant roadway features;

4. Designing and production of Maintenance of Traffic plans;

5. Software systems for roadway design and modeling including Bentley CONNECT Edition (CE) MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer (ORD) or Autodesk Civil3D plus Microsoft Suite of programs;

6. TransCAD, Autodesk AutoCAD, QGIS, ArcGIS, ETABS, Water CAD, and SewerCAD;

7. PCI software;

8. TransModeler, Synchro and VISSIM software with respect to traffic data collecting (Traffic count, Turning movement, and signal Timing) and evaluation of improvements with actuated and semi-actuated;

9. PE License

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $117,083.00 - $133,809.85.
