Job summary

The Transportation driver at University Medical Center of El Paso (UMC) is responsible for picking up and transporting passengers and hospital materials to approved designations. This role includes minor maintenance of department vehicles and reporting repair needs to the Manager, with a strong emphasis on customer service for internal and external customers.

Must have a high school diploma, valid driver's license, CPR certification or obtain within 6 months, and defensive driving certification.

Qualifications

• One-year customer service experience required and one year previous public transportation driving experience required.
• Valid Driver's License.
• CPR Certified or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Defensive Driving course certification obtained within the past year or within 6 months of hire, renewal required every 3 years.
• Must complete hospital’s in-service course of de-escalation within three months of employment.

Required Experience

Work Experience:

One-year customer service experience required and one year previous public transportation driving experience required. Must be able to be contacted in case of an emergency. Must have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude. Must have no more than one traffic violation within the last three years.

Licensure/Registration/Certification

Valid Driver's License.

CPR Certified or obtain within 6 months of hire.

Education And Training
