Job summary

University Medical Center of El Paso is seeking a part-time Transportation Driver for the Shuttle Service. You will pick up and transport patients and staff, assist passengers with special needs, and help with light vehicle maintenance.

This role requires a valid driver's license, CPR or plan to obtain, and defensive driving certification. At least one year of customer service and one year of public transportation driving experience is required.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service experience required.
• One year of public transportation driving experience required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Defensive Driving course certification obtained within the past year or within 6 months of hire, renewal required every 3 years.

The Transportation driver picks up and transports passengers and when needed hospital materials to approved designations. Carries out minor maintenance of department vehicles and reports repair needs to Manager. Coordinates all activities with a primary focus on Customer Service to both the internal and external Customer.

Required Experience

Work Experience

One-year customer service experience required and one year previous public transportation driving experience required. Must be able to be contacted in case of an emergency. Must have no felony convictions or misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude. Must have no more than one traffic violation within the last three years.

Licensure/Registration/Certification

• Valid Driver's License.
• CPR Certified or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Defensive Driving course certification obtained within the past year orwithin 6 months of hire, renewal required every 3 years.

Education and Training

• High SchoolDiploma or equivalent.
• Must complete hospital’s in-service course of de-escalation within three months of employment.
