Job summary

Giant Food is seeking a Supervisor II - Transportation to lead the dispatch and driver team, ensuring compliant, on-time delivery and optimized routing from our Jessup and York distribution centers. You will drive supervision, safety, and performance management to sustain smooth daily operations.

Ideal candidates bring a Bachelor's in business or accounting, 1–2 years in logistics/Distribution Ops, and strong Excel/Word skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business or accounting or equivalent work experience.
Specialized knowledge of Warehouse Management System, Excel, and Word.
Strong analytical and presentation skills.
Project coordination experience and communication at all levels.

Responsibilities

Organize and optimize daily routing of customer deliveries and assign drivers.
Ensure DOT regulations and company policies are followed.
Oversee loading and dispatching of trailers from Jessup and York DCs.
Monitor driver performance and safety standards via on-road observations.
Manage driver team metrics and provide daily coaching to reach targets.
Communicate status and shift issues to team members to maintain operational consistency.
