Job summary

Giant Food in Jessup, MD is seeking a Distribution Manager to oversee the fresh warehouse shipping functions, supervise shift staff, and drive operational excellence across the supply chain.

You will lead a team in a union environment, partner with PDC teams, Stores Operations, Transportation, and Inventory Management to ensure timely, accurate movement of products, while modeling a culture of diversity, teamwork, and care. Oversee scheduling, equipment, safety, and daily production standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in logistics, warehousing, and/or transportation.
• Knowledge of warehouse management systems, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and safety standards.
• Experience with OSHA regulations and safety compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, leadership and change-management skills.
• Ability to work in a union environment and manage shift staff across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Lead and develop shift supervisors and frontline staff.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Transportation, Store Operations, and Inventory Management.
• Ensure safety, sanitation, and OSHA compliance across all warehouse activities.
• Drive process improvements to reduce shrink and improve productivity.
