Job summary

Giant Food in Jessup, MD is seeking a Distribution Manager to help keep our supply chain running smoothly. You will drive process improvements, ensure timely delivery, and keep products moving across our distribution center operations.

In this role you will support KPI achievement and budget targets, assist management with planning, monitor performance, and coordinate shipping, receiving, inventory control, safety, and sanitation across the DC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or logistics, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years in logistics, warehousing or transportation, preferably retail.
• Knowledge of warehouse systems, inventory control, and shipping/receiving.
• Strong written and verbal communication; leadership and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work across shifts in multiple warehouses.

Responsibilities

• Support the department in meeting KPIs and operating budget.
• Assist Manager with goals and performance monitoring.
• Identify barriers to productivity and allocate resources.
• Ensure adherence to safety and sanitation standards.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, inventory control across the DC.
• Monitor schedules and balance workload between departments.
• Observe and report any union-organizing indicators.
