Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Transportation Design Intern to join the Highways team in Fairfax, VA. The role runs through the summer with potential to extend during the school year. Interns gain on-the-job training and collaborate with a large transportation engineering group.

The position offers exposure to MicroStation, roadways, pedestrian facilities, and related design tasks across the Southeast region, with office and field work as needed.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Work on Southeast region projects including field data collection and roadway design.
• Collaborate with team members to develop creative solutions to transportation challenges.
