Job summary

RK&K is seeking a Transportation Design Intern to join the Highways team in our Fairfax, VA office. This summer internship offers on-the-job training, hands-on design experience, and collaboration with a large group of transportation engineers.

You will gain exposure to roadway and pedestrian facility design, field data collection, and supporting project teams across the Southeast region. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD tools is helpful.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Civil Engineering degree.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.
• Valid driver's license.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Work on projects throughout the Southeast region including field data collection.
• Design roadway, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, maintenance of traffic and intersections.
• Support cost estimating, structures and hydraulics, and coordinate with team members.
