Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for a Transportation Infrastructure Design Engineering Manager in our Design Build Group. The role leads multi-disciplinary teams across transportation projects, guiding design from concept through final deliverables and coordinating with owners, constructors, and consultants.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and staffing, develop constructible solutions, ensure quality, and mentor staff while advancing the design-build delivery

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience delivering large, multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
• Experience using design-build, progressive design-build, P3, or EPC delivery methods.
• At least 3 years in a leadership role coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of design and construction relationships and constructibility.
• Experience leading teams of architects, engineers, BIM designers, and external partners.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages technical teams for assigned design disciplines during a pursuit or final design project.
• Responsible for completion of project design tasks within engineering disciplines per criteria and plans.
• Ensures Kiewit's Standard Operating Procedures are communicated and followed.
• Controls cost of the design and all engineering services.
• Manages quantities and constructability throughout the design process for assigned discipline.
• Has flexibility to work within multiple design disciplines.
• Reviews and administers design engineering contracts.
• Monitors and reports progress against design schedule.
• Partners with design discipline lead and construction estimator/superintendent to meet objectives.
• Mentors junior staff with technical and professional development.
• Design quality management plan champion for the engineering design team.
• Develops project budgets, schedules and staffing plans for final design projects.
