Job summary

Kiewit Infrastructure Engineers seeks a Design Engineering Manager to lead multi-disciplinary design teams on major infrastructure programs across North America. The role covers design management during criteria development, preliminary and final design, and construction support.

The selected candidate will work within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and support alternative delivery projects including design-build and progressive design-build.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design engineering or design management experience.
• Experience with design delivery from inception to construction.
• Strong leadership and coordination across distributed teams.
• Familiarity with design-build and progressive design-build delivery methods.
• Commitment to safety, ethics and quality.

Responsibilities

• Support management and coordination of multi-disciplinary design teams during development and execution.
• Assist senior design leadership with staffing plans, budgets, and schedules.
• Monitor design progress and adherence to scope, schedule, and quality objectives.
• Coordinate with construction teams to ensure constructible, cost-effective designs.
• Identify risks and assist in mitigation strategies.
• Prepare and manage subconsultant scopes, fees, and performance.
• Participate in client and stakeholder meetings as required.
• Track and communicate schedule, quality, and financial metrics.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and contract requirements.
