Amazon’s Transportation Design Team in Bellevue, WA is seeking an Innovation and Design Engineer to help design large-scale material handling and distribution facilities. You will lead engineering solutions and collaborate across internal teams and vendors to optimize the transportation network.

A successful candidate has 3+ years in design/innovation or related fields, a Bachelor's in Engineering, and strong project management.

Qualifications

Experience in management of engineering design projects.
3+ years in Design/Innovation, R&D, manufacturing, process or industrial engineering.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (any domain) or related field.

Responsibilities

Responsible for various facility designs from the time projects are selected to the successful launch for the Operations team to start delivering customer packages.
Invent, design, and implement engineering solutions to complex material flow and human/machine efficiency problems throughout the global Amazon supply chain.
Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the transportation network through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.
Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to generate high quality, cost effective solutions in very short periods of time.
Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.
