Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) seeks an Engineer I to assist with engineering system design across multiple projects under close supervision. You will perform design calculations, prepare reports, and develop deliverable drawings.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in engineering, 0–1 year experience, and may pursue EIT. Familiarity with AutoCAD, MATLAB or SolidWorks is a plus. The role emphasizes accuracy, teamwork, and adherence to codes and standards.

Responsibilities

Assist Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems; write/edit specifications and research design options on devices, equipment, and system selections.
Apply procedures to perform tasks; research findings and provide recommendations.
Collect data, gather information and perform basic computations; prepare drawings and visual aids.
Participate in meetings and reviews to ensure code compliance; may conduct site investigations and observations.
Interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors; limited client-facing responsibilities.
