Job summary

Lockwood, Andrews & Newnam, Inc. (LAN) is seeking an Engineer I to assist with engineering system design under supervision. You will perform design calculations, prepare cost estimates, and generate deliverable drawings across multiple projects.

The position requires a Bachelor's in engineering with 0–1 year of experience; EIT is preferred. Proficiency with AutoCAD, MATLAB, or SolidWorks is valued, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• 0-1 year of experience preferred; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) is a plus.
• Strong understanding of core engineering principles relevant to their discipline.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineers and Designers in the design and detail of engineering systems; write/edit specifications.
• Apply prescribed techniques to perform tasks; research findings and provide recommendations.
• Collect data, perform basic computations, and prepare drawings and visuals.
• Participate in meetings to ensure code compliance; conduct site investigations as needed.
• May interact with staff, the public, officials, and contractors with limited client-facing responsibilities.
