Job summary

Civil Science is seeking a Transportation Design Division Manager based in North Dakota to lead and grow the transportation design practice. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight and a strong client-facing focus, rooted in our ESOP-owned culture.

You will guide project managers, oversee multiple projects, drive quality, and contribute to business development and division growth while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license for North Dakota is required.
• 10+ years of transportation design or related infrastructure experience.
• Experience managing teams and leading complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Transportation Design Division, including project managers and staff.
• Oversee multiple transportation design projects with quality, schedule, and budget.
• Serve as senior client contact for transportation work.
• Drive business development and client relationships.
• Collaborate with leadership to grow the division and market presence.
• Mentor staff and foster a strong team culture and technical excellence.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are consistently applied across projects.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight.
