Job summary

Civil Science is seeking a Transportation Design Division Manager in North Dakota to lead and grow our transportation design practice. This leadership role combines technical excellence with client-facing responsibilities in a growing market.

You will guide project managers, oversee multiple projects, and drive quality, teamwork, and business development while maintaining high standards of delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license for North Dakota is required.
• 10+ years of transportation design or related infrastructure experience.
• Experience managing teams and leading complex projects.
• Familiarity with public agency clients (NDDOT) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Transportation Design Division, including project managers and design staff.
• Oversee multiple transportation design projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget performance.
• Serve as a senior client contact for transportation-related work.
• Support and drive business development efforts, including client relationships and pursuits.
• Collaborate with leadership to grow the transportation division and expand market presence.
• Mentor and develop staff, fostering a strong team culture and technical excellence.
• Ensure QA/QC processes are applied consistently and projects are delivered to high standards.
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight.
