Job summary

Civil Science, a 100% employee-owned civil engineering firm, seeks a Transportation Design Division Manager to lead and grow the North Dakota practice. The role blends technical excellence with leadership, project oversight, and strategic growth to strengthen our transportation presence in the region.

You will guide project managers, foster a high-performing team, and drive quality and business development while benefiting from employee ownership and a culture built on core values.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in transportation design or related infrastructure
• PE license for North Dakota required
• Experience leading multiple projects and teams
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and QA/QC understanding
• Experience with NDDOT/public agency clients

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Transportation Design Division and staff
• Oversee multiple projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget
• Serve as senior client contact for transportation work
• Drive business development and client relationships
• Grow division and expand market presence
• Mentor staff and ensure QA/QC compliance
• Balance strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight
