Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead cross-functional data governance, definitions, and standards across the Transportation BG. This leadership role focuses on enabling data reuse, guiding SMEs, and aligning technical authorities to drive better business decisions and project delivery.

The role integrates with HDR’s employee-owned culture, reporting to the Transportation Technology Director, and involves enabling data-driven insights across multiple service lines and regions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline or equivalent related experience.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the Resources engineering industry.
• Experience leading diverse teams and collaborating with executives and managers.
• Proven ability to drive change and implement data standards across large organizations.
• Committed to HDR values and employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate a network of SME expertise across the Transportation Business Group to define technical standards.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions for key engineering and technical terms.
• Use your technical network to build alignment and consensus around data processes and use.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data and data quality best practices.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets and lifecycle considerations.
