HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead data definitions and governance across the Transportation Business Group. This embedded leadership role coordinates SMEs and technical authorities to enable consistent data usage, reuse, and informed decision-making across HDR projects and teams.

The role emphasizes enablement, collaboration, and scaling data practices rather than IT governance, empowering teams to define data once and reuse it confidently in delivery and analytics.

Qualifications

• This role defines data practices across Transportation BG and coordinates SMEs and technical authorities.
• Leads data definitions, reuse, and governance to enable better business decisions.
• Focus on enablement, collaboration, and alignment rather than IT ownership.

Responsibilities

• Establish and coordinate SME networks to define technical standards for Transportation data.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions supporting models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Promote consistent, responsible data use including access, quality, format, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets and supervise data lifecycle considerations.
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation Business Group.
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with Strategy.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards, practices, and tools.
• Communicate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
• Ensure new tools align to data strategy within Transportation BG.
