Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead cross-functional data governance across the Transportation Business Group. Embedded in HDR’s employee-owned culture, you’ll define data standards, coordinate SMEs, and enable consistent data definitions to support delivery and analytics.

This leadership role focuses on aligning data practices, driving change, and improving reuse across projects, time, and teams, enabling better decisions and scalable data solutions for HDR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree: architecture, engineering, data science, business, computer science, or related discipline.
• At least 10 years in the Resources engineering industry.
• Experience leading diverse teams.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to HDR values and employee ownership.
• Active participant in our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

• Define data standards and coordinate SME expertise across the Transportation Business Group to define technical standards and align to enterprise expectations.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions that support structured data models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Use your technical network to build alignment and consensus around data processes, priority, and expected use.
• Promote consistent, responsible use of technical data, including access, data quality, best practices for format, and reuse.
• Support governance of externally sourced datasets (access, approvals, inventory awareness, storage, and lifecycle considerations).
• Promote data fluency across the Transportation Business Group.
