Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transportation Data Steward to lead data definitions and governance across the Transportation Business Group. The role focuses on enabling data reuse, reducing rework, and driving data-driven decisions for project delivery excellence.

Based in an HDR office in the United States, the candidate will coordinate with subject matter experts and technical authorities to shape how work gets done and how data supports HDR's transportation initiatives.

Qualifications

• Ten years of strategic leadership experience focused on growing, developing and leading teams in change management and working with data.
• Fifteen years of overall experience providing diverse data centric solutions and services to an organization and the industry.
• Ability to work cooperatively with other leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers.
• Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values.

Responsibilities

• Establish SME network across Transportation BG to define technical standards and align with enterprise expectations.
• Develop and maintain business-aligned data definitions supporting models, reporting, automation, and AI use cases.
• Use your network to build alignment around data processes, priority, and utilization.
• Promote responsible data use, including access, quality, format, and reuse.
• Govern externally sourced datasets and manage storage and lifecycle considerations.
• Coordinate with the Technology Director to align data workflows with Transportation BG strategy.
• Lead change management to drive adoption of data standards and tools across the BG.
• Regularly communicate with Data Stewards, Enterprise Data Science Teams, and Enterprise Data Operations staff.
• Ensure new tools align to the data strategy and enterprise expectations.
